Server: information for administrators

SECUNITY Messaging connects to one designated Matrix server run by your organisation.

Requirements

• a Matrix-compatible server (Synapse recommended) with end-to-end encryption enabled,
• connections over HTTPS only; the app does not allow unencrypted connections,
• a server certificate trusted by the app (in private installations: your own certificate authority bundled into the app),
• a UnifiedPush notification server (for example ntfy) under the organisation's control, if notifications are to work without Google services,
• federation with other servers disabled (recommended for privacy).

Server address in the app

The app is built or configured for one specific server and does not let the user enter a different address. Contact us about preparing a version for your organisation: [FILL IN: contact e-mail].

Backups

Regularly make encrypted backups of the database and server configuration and test restoring them. Keep copies off the server.
